Principal's Message

Dear Woodland Families and Community,

Welcome to Woodland Elementary School, the newest school in the Cherry Creek School District! Since opening in 2022, we’ve been proud to create a vibrant, inclusive school community where every student is encouraged to be bold, be brave, be brilliant, and BOUNCE. Be a BEAR!

As principal, I bring over 27 years of experience in education: 15 years as a classroom teacher and 12 years as a school administrator. My leadership is grounded in both personal and district values. At Woodland, I lead with Integrity, Safety, Equity, Teaching, and Students at the heart of every decision. In alignment with the Cherry Creek School District’s core values: growth mindset, equity, whole well-being, engagement, and relationships. I strive to create a school where every student can thrive both academically and personally.

One of the ways we bring this vision to life is through our partnership with Dr. Robert Marzano and the Marzano Academies Model. As a Marzano Academy, Woodland is committed to a standards-based instructional approach that provides clarity in learning, personalized support, and a strong focus on student mastery. This model ensures students not only understand what they are learning, but also how to succeed and grow as confident, capable learners.
